Dine with the Duvel: The Indian Egg
Duvel recently partnered with Tyler Gugliotta, Executive Chef at Baran’s 2239, to create the ultimate pairing for Dine with the Duvel series. Recently named one of the 2017 Best New Restaurants by LA Magazine, it’s no surprise that Chef Tyler cooked up something with a surprising twist, an Indian Egg.
This unique take on the traditional Scotch Egg combines Indian flavors with bold curry sauce, lamb and egg, complimented by a bright yogurt and cucumber sauce. Says Gugliotta, “I like this pairing so much as it works on many levels. If you had a Duvel with just the cucumber and yogurt, it's going to compliment more of the fruity notes of the beer. And then there's the curry sauce, the lamb and egg. The egg and the lamb are rich, so the carbonation will help cleanse your palate and cut through some of that fat as well.”
A master in his own right, Chef Gugliotta turned up the heat. The Indian Egg is certainly a Devil of a dish.
